iPad Weather Brief at KCOS

March 01, 2016 at 5:15 PM

Almost 60 pilots attended our first iPad Weather Briefing seminar at Centennial in January.  Chuck Gensler, CFII and Platinum CSIP, hit it out of the park by demonstrating some fantastic apps to help pilots get a thorough weather picture along with a “legal” weather briefing.

We were invited to take this seminar on the road to Colorado Springs, and do so for a Saturday, March 12, 2016 date.  We’re adapting and improving the seminar based on the generous comments made by folks who attended in Denver.

The presentation is part of a day-long safety gathering by Colorado Springs pilots, and is held in the Terminal Building at the Municipal Airport (KCOS).  If you’d like to attend, look at the FAA Safety website, www.faasafety.gov, for more information.  The docket includes topics including:

  • KCOS Airport Update
  • Area updates (ATC, airports, etc.)
  • Angel Flight
  • "How to Stay Alive as a Flight Instructor"
The seminars qualify for FAA Safety WINGS credits.  You can sign up at faasafety.gov or contact Alan at alan.gorski(at)me.com, 719-651-8476

A flyer is available here.

We hope to see you there!
